"The Maid's Tragedy"

New York- (June, 2003) Can one live well and love well in a time of war? The Immediate Theater Company addresses these themes in Beaumont & Fletcher's The Maid’s Tragedy, a dark comedy of manners firmly set in a world of intrigue, sex, power and high fashion. Originally written in 1611, this exciting new adaptation by director Jose Zayas is quite possibly the first time the play has been performed in front of New York audiences. Previews begin June 12th – 15th and performances run through June 29th. A limited engagement, scheduled performances run as follows: June 12th- June 16th, June 18th -June 22nd continuing June 25th – 28th, with a special matinee closing performance on June 29th at 2 PM. All performances begin at 8:30pm with the exception of the closing matinee. Performances of The Maid’s Tragedy will be held at HERE Arts Center located on 145 Avenue of the Americas between Spring & Broome Streets. Subway; take the E or C trains to Spring Street to get to HERE. Tickets cost $15 or $12 for students with valid I.D.
