Laura Peterson Choreography Intelligent, satirical and highly-physical dance-theater, Peterson brings together the oddest of formal movement and theatrical surprise. Her work runs the gamut of emotions and delves into the absurd, awkward and poignant moments between people, props and the audience. Critically acclaimed, Peterson’s works have been called “feisty and fiercely -committed" by Backstage, "...ingenious..." by the Buenos Aires Herald and "the perfect balance between campy high artifice and the grotesque" by the Philadelphia Inquirer. Laura Peterson has previously created work for the Hartford Ballet and Pennsylvania Ballet and her compositions have been produced at leading festivals including Jacob’s Pillow and Lincoln Center Out-Of-Doors. Peterson was recently featured in Polka choreographed by Mark Morris and performed at Radio City Music Hall. She has received numerous awards and grants including the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Choreography Fellowship, The Choreography Prize and has appeared on stages worldwide from New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC to Argentina and Germany.
