USA - Workhouse Publicity, an award-winning public relations firm, announced today that it has been selected by emerging fashion designer Gina Velasco, as the Agency of Record for U.S. marketing and domestic publicity. Gina Velasco offers an exquisite selection of elaborately designed evening gowns and cocktail dresses, by blending elements of Aztecan culture with the 1920’s, but updated with a modern flair. Each distinctive piece is made with unconventional combinations of color like melon with gray, and unique blends of fabric such as tulle and beaded crochet, with silk charmeuse. Gina Velasco designs are to be worn by women who appreciate the details, and live in a world of style, taste, and luxury. Workhouse Publicity will develop an integrated promotional strategy that synchronizes communication efforts both nationally and locally. As part of a larger company initiative, Workhouse will develop creative brand messaging across all media channels to ensure consistency. The assignment is effective immediately. To schedule an editorial appointment or interview with Designer Gina Velasco, we cordially invite you to contact Workhouse Publicity Publicist, Stephanie Sachs via email at stephanie@workhousepr.com.

“I design for the confident and sophisticated woman in her 30’s and 40’s, someone strong and independent. I love experimenting with unusual color combinations, fabrics, and tonal beading in a way that will show off a woman’s shape.” said Designer, Gina Velasco.

INTRICATE CREATIONS
Put some spice in your step with the debut Spring 2008 collection from dynamic new fashion designer, Gina Velasco. Influenced by her Spanish heritage, Gina Velasco celebrates her culture, and the female silhouette with a series of intricately designed gowns and convertible cocktail dresses that remind women why they should embrace fashion and their shape. Designing since she was eleven, Gina Velasco’s spring line features items made of embroidered crochet with hints of fringe and pleating, asymmetrical gowns with rainbow sequins and bugle beads, as well as Flamenco inspired dresses with ruffle tiers and an integrated racer back bra, that is stylish and comfortable. Also included are colorful bold prints with elements of Aztecan culture such as Penca tree leaves, roots, and cactus plants. Ethereal yet luxurious, Gina Velasco’s Spring 2008 creations are meant for the woman who appreciates the artistry of timeless innovation.

GINA VELASCO
Gina Velasco is the signature line of this Puerto Rican born designer. Established in 2005, Velasco incorporates inspiration from growing up in San Juan, as the backdrop for her immaculate collection of evening gowns and cocktail dresses. Intricately designed for today’s modern woman, Velasco innovates classic silhouettes with unexpected subtleties such as a 1920’s drop-waist shift with hanging chains and feathers, or a sophisticated navy and silver ruffled tier gown, which converts into a sultry cocktail dress. The only accessory needed is confidence, and perhaps a new pair of shoes. Each superfluous piece is reminiscent of artwork by Velasco’s muse Frida Kahlo, through her experimentation with whimsical color palettes, ornate fabric, and tonal beading. Another Velasco signature is providing her gowns with elaborate back treatments. In doing this, Velasco has additional space to experiment with and showcase her creativity. Gina Velasco’s creations successfully fuse together a Latin aesthetic and ingenuity, resulting in a timeless collection filled with depth and memorable style.
