ASSOULINE IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE COSTUMES OF LIGHT
USA - Assouline Publishing, the illustrated book publishing house behind culturally enriching titles such as Fabienne Rousso-Lenoir's America Latina, Berenice Geoffroy-Schneiter's Ethnic Style, and Pauline Van Lynden's Rajasthan, will add a new edition to it's mémoire collection this Fall Costumes of Light by Peter Müller and Danièle Carbonel. The evolution of “costumes and light”, the elaborate costume worn by the bullfighters of Spain, is told in this luminous mémoire. The greatest stars of the Corrida-the Spanish bullfighting arena-are brought together, resplendent in their elaborately embroidered suits, in a series of stunning portraits. The matadors dressed in gold and the banderilleros wearing silver reenact the dramatic poses and intricate choreography of their profession, thus displaying the most artistic and appealing aspects of the bullfight: the costume and the gesture. By photographing the “costumes of light”, Peter Müller reveals the magnificent creations of the Fermin workshop- couturier to the bullfighters of Madrid.
