ASSOULINE
IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE BRITISH ARTISTS AT WORK
USA- Assouline Publishing, the illustrated book-publishing
house behind such trend setting art titles as Brooke De Ocampo’s
Bright Young Things London, Dominique Nabokov’s
Paris Living Rooms, Christopher Makos’
Andy Warhol, and Pierre Sterckx’s Magritte:
An Empire of Images, is proud to announce the release of British
Artists At Work, with texts by Gemma de Cruz, photographs
by Amanda Eliasch, and a foreword by Franca Sozzani.
British Artists at Work reveals the world of London’s sensational
art elite and their processes. Young British Artists, recently dubbed
the “YBAs”, have captured the ears of the press as well as
the discriminating eyes of collectors and dealers such as Charles
Saatchi, who filled his new gallery on the Thames with these
increasingly intriguing artists. A piece of art in itself, with its sculptural
plastic binding, British Artists at Work is a work to be collected
and admired. Offering unique insight into the world of contemporary art,
British Artists at Work looks at four generations of artists,
from the established to the newly emerging. Photographs of each of the
artists, taken by Amanda Eliasch during 2002 in the artists’
studios, are set alongside examples of their work. This book draws attention
to a particular selection of artists who together form a strong idea of
what is happening now in contemporary art in London, featuring artists
who are influential alongside those they have influenced. British
Artists at Work includes the following artists, as well as many others:
Michael Craig-Martin, Tracey Emin, Tierney Gearon, Gilbert &
George, Kristen Glass, Rachel Howard, Anish Kapoor, Tim Noble & Sue
Webster, Julian Opie, Sam Taylor-Wood, Gillian Wearing, Rachel Whiteread,
and more. For Serial Rights information, please contact
