A blend of cultures, religions, languages and histories, Latin
America is a fascinating continent. A source of both pleasure
and knowledge, this richly illustrated volume goes to the common
sources and links all of these regions through quotations from
historical heroes, cultural icons and literary greats. This insightful
volume draws on music, literature and art to explore the complexities
of these countries. From the Buenos Aires of Jorge Luis
Borges to the infinite spaces of Pablo Neruda, from the
tango and bossa nova to the Buena Vista Social Club,
from the Virgin of Guadalupe to Eva Perón,
America Latina paints a compelling portrait of the region's
soul. The exuberent spirit of Latin America bursts forth from
every page of this lavish volume.
